Here is Rachel Ellicott from R&R Reproductions. This pattern is OOP. I stitched this sampler on 32 count Lambswool linen with DMC and Sampler Threads... |
I am anxious for Spring and this sampler gives me that Spring feeling. It also matches my antique bowl that I bought a few years ago when I lived in Florida.
The verse reads:
Almighty power whose tender care did infancy protect. Let riper years thy favor share, and every step direct.
This beautiful sampler is held in the collection of the Sandy Springs Museum in Maryland. Rachel came from a prominent Quaker family who were mill owners. This sampler exhibits the Westtown School influence with the exception of the forget-me-not border.
Not my usual 40 ct style sampler. Nevertheless, I love it.
Enjoy!!
