Doll Quilt Christmas Gift

This is a doll quilt that I made for my seven year old DD for Christmas. It is a Carol Hopkin's pattern called Martin's Pennies and it is hand pieced and hand quilted. This is my first hand quilted project. I am stitching approx 8 stitches per inch. My lines are not perfect, but I am not striving for perfection. I absolutely love hand quilting!!

What a beautiful little quilt...the colors are wonderful. Your DD should love this. Your first time hand quilting?! Nice job.

What a lovely gift for your daughter! I do believe that hand-piecing and hand-quilting keeps a small quilt more soft and pliable, so to speak. The stitching contains a single thread in comparison to the two-threads by machine. On a small item like this it makes for a softer feel. It's lovely!

I love this quilt! Brown and blue look wonderful together. The Drunkard's Path is very pretty and I am liking the hexagon quilt also. I plan to try making some hexagons in January.

Wonderful job on this quilt, a doll quilt is such a perfect gift AND a great way to start hand-quilting. Glad to hear you love it, hope to see more of it from you!
