Long, long project

Here I am working on the Hexagon Quilt...

I have been working on this English paper piecing hexagon quilt. I thought it was done and then my DH really wanted it to be for our Calif. King Bed!! So I have a lot more piecing to do. Any suggestions on how to finish this quilt without making hundreds of more of these hexagons?

Donna how great to see a new post! Your quilt is lovely, I don't blame Hubby for wanting it on your bed. How about a plain border with hexagons quilted on it?

I don't have any suggestions but did want to let you know that it is stunning.

I was going to suggest appliquing it down onto a background and then adding borders. Your pieced part then becomes the center medallion. I've actually seen an antique quilt done like that.

It's beautiful, btw.

I like Karla's idea...you could check out the quilts at the www.quiltindex.org and see how other hexagon quilts are finished for some inspiration.

The colors are wonderful!

Beautiful quilt!! Looks like you already done hundreds of hexagons!! I'd go for some borders to drape it off the bed and frame it nicely!! Good luck.
