Sheepish Designs Antique Frances F

Here is a picture of an older Sheepish Designs Antique Frances F. that I completed. There was no date on this sampler. However, what is unique is the way Frances stitched the letters. Some are caps, some are transposed and some are as we know them to be.

I chose a left over piece of my absolute favorite linen, barn owl 36 ct and used the suggested DMC. I used one strand of DMC to give it an aged look.

Autumn Bouquet Blackbird Designs

I have been admiring this simple yet beautiful sampler from Blackbird Designs for a few years now. I love the colors Schnectedy, Cinnamon, Dried Thyme (all time favorite) and I used a beautiful color from WDW called Red Rocks. It is a gorgeous deep red with lots of other variations of red. However, I am a little disappointed in the stark differences in thread color from one skein to another. Sometimes, I just miss calculate and need to purchase an extra skein, then the thread color is just so different from skein to skein. I stitched it on 32 ct Goldfinch from R&R, which I just love. The sampler came out dark, primitive and so fall like. Now to get it framed...

I am finishing up on one of the small Sheepish Designs Antiques now..

Peach Strawberry Summer Pie

Here is the Peach Strawberry Summer Pie I made for my family. I really like how it looks and it is delicious. I used fresh peaches and strawberries. It is a little liquidy probably from the strawberries, but a real treat. Besides cross stitch, I really enjoy baking and cooking....

Eliza's Pets Tiny Sampler

This has been a UFO for quite awhile. It is no longer a UFO because I finished it over the weekend. It is so beautiful. I stitched it in leftover silks (mostly Glorianna) and 40 count linen. The deer, lion and my initials and date are stitched over one. I was having trouble stitching over one, but on this thicker linen it was a snap and so pretty. I really like the effect. I would eventually like to have this tiny one framed.

Stacy Nash Sewing Case with Lining

Above is the lining that I chose. I didn't use a very primitive lining, but I did add a pocket and a needle cushion on top. (double click) My sewing machine skills are fair. I do need to remember to measure better. However, my work suits this 'primitive' style. I also added to heart buttons to match the heart theme on the front. Well, this is my first needlecase and it was a lot of fun.
