Thank you friends for all of your compliments. They are appreciated. This is a small Blackbird Design sampler that I did a couple of months ago. I just got it back from Hobby Lobby for framing. As you know, this is one of my favorite designers. This sampler was stitched in DMC and sampler threads. I just love the two little blue birds. M and H are the initials for my two daughters AND my husbands initials!!

Margaret Gibson Update
Here is my Margaret Gibson update. This is a Scarlet Letter pattern and I have been working diligently on it. I don't like to work on more that one project at a time unless I need some extra threads that I don't have or I run into a problem. This way they get done!! When I was working on a lot of projects nothing ever got done. This is a very time consuming project. The house is stitched in sampler threads and so is the roof the rest is DMC. The lettering is over one and a pain to do, but oh so beautiful.

my new project

I am currently working on the Margaret Gibson 1839 from Scarlet Letter.
It is a somewhat intricate sampler but it is beautiful. I like all of the detail and the reds fit in with my decor. I have only been working on it for 1 week. I am stitching it in 40ct linen and again all cotton. I may use sampler threads for the center house. I really like these large, detailed samplers because they look so amazing when they are done.
My digital camera is out of batteries. I hope to get some so I can post my progress.
Enjoy!

Sampler Completed

Thank you for your kind compliments on this sampler. It was stitched on 36 ct linen with cotton (DMC and some sampler threads). I still use a lot of cotton, due to cost and the texture, I try to throw in some sampler threads to use up my stash. This is a Moira Blackburn sampler titled Maria Short. I used mine and my husbands initials on top and the completion date on the bottom since I couldn't fit in our wedding date. This sampler worked up quickly and was a lot of fun to stitch. I bought it from Criss Cross Row.
