Why not use several shades of your favorite color?
I have your blog bookmarked and read it often,and enjoy it very much. I just finished reading a wonderful book I got from the public library called 'Samplers and Sampler Makers--An American Schoolgirl Art 1700-1850 by Mary Jaene Edmonds' and it was such a great book. The author did so much research to find out the bios of the stitchers and they were fascinating. Have you read this book? It looks like the book was in conjection with a museum exhibit of samplers a while ago, which would have been interesting to view. I enjoy looking at your samplers and thank you for showing them on your blog.
