Progress QA Lace

I was able to work on Mirabilia's QA (Queen Anne's) Lace over the weekend. The background on this pattern is very detailed with thread changes evey few stitches. Not exactly fun stitching, but I am persistent and I know once I get to her gown it will be fun. I had to make a 10 x 10 grid with a single strange of floss so I can track the stitches?!?!

Hornbrook

Last summer a did a small Hornbrook sampler and have been unable to find a Hornbrook frame for it. If anyone knows where I can purchase a frame, please let me know. This was a quick project and I still have to finish the A in black thread.

I have been working hard on Mirabilia's Quenn Anne's Lace. I am on the background and it is tedious and I feel like my progress is slow. I know that this will be a lot easier when I get to her gown, so I will plug away.

It is cold and rainy here in TN with a threat of snow!! My girls are on sping break and we are having fun. Definatley not at parks and picnics in this weather.

Enjoy!!

Notable Freebie

There is a six part freebie from Gigi and Carinne of "Broder Ensemble" and "Le 498"
and Jackye of "A Mon ami Pierre" copyright is theirs exclusively for this particular design. Right now they are getting ready to issue part number three.

Here is the link:
Another Great Quaker Freebie

This is a beautiful pattern and I invision it being done on 40 ct linen with a peacock silk thread with hints of gold. The choice is yours. I definately do not have time to do it right now so I am printing it and filing it to do at a later date.

I own this design from A Mon ami Pierre above...beautiful!!

Enjoy..

R&R Linen

My favorite linen is R&R. I love the color variations and the gentle creasings in the fabric. It gives the project that aged, vintage look that appeals to me.

Besides my TN project I have a few UFO's that I will work on this weekend. I will focus on Marion Robertson sampler that I posted about previously.

I don't have any new samplers or projects that I have my eyes on except for the new Loose Feathers Club from Blackbird Designs.

Here is Loose Feathers for Feb 2006.

Blackbird Designs issues a new patten each month, then it is retired. These patterns are lovely, quick and make great projects.

Needlecraft Corner has a membership where you get them automatically each month with fabric and threads (if you want). Nice!!!

Enjoy and Happy St. Patricks's Day.. This reminds me I am making a St. Patrick's Day dinner for my family.

I am making cornbeef, potatoes and cabbage in the crockpot. For dessert we will have chocolate chip mint ice-cream (since it is green) with Milano cookies. Anyone else making and Irish dinner tonight?

Project Finished

For the most part this project is finished. It is a Hester's Needle project and I stitched it with sampler threads on 40ct linen. I really like the colors and the detail of this project. I still have a few more stitches to do on the top section, but for the most part it is done..

I hope everyone was able to find the Quaker freebie I finished last week. Details to exactly how to find the pattern are listed in the comments section for that project.

Abbreviations I commonly use: TN is an abbreviation for Tennessee. The state where I live. LNS is an abbreviation for Local Needlework Shop. My LNS is Double Cross in Knoxville, TN.

Thank you friends for your compliments and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Progress TN Sampler

Here is my progress on my TN Sampler Project. As an update, I attend a sampler group at my LNS once a month. We are working on a year long project using actual motifs from vintage TN samplers. I love this project!! I am using my favorite linen. Birds of a Feather Barn Owl 36ct with silk floss left over from previous projects. The silk on this linen works beautifully plus the colors and pattern are perfect. I will post of picture of my progress each month as I go.

I worked on my Hester's Needle project his weekend also. Not to much progress.

It is spring here in TN and it was a lovely weekend. The dogwood's are blooming and everything is starting to bud.

Have a peaceful Monday.

Finished Quaker Freebie

Over Christmas I printed out this freebie Quaker pattern, went into my stash, chose some thread and finished it up yesterday. I really like the pattern, though I changed it a little and the colors are some of my favorites. I sewed some fabric onto the sides. It will be a small pillow and I plan to add a beaded trim. I didn't have any fiberfill or else it would have been finished yesterday.

change from samplers

Suddenly I am getting a little bored with doing samplers, so I am going to do the Queen Anne's Lace below and I also love Angel of Love by Mirabilia.

It is outstanding with all of the beadwork on the gown. I am thinking of doing it on a vintage fabric. Such as Vintage Examplar. However it calls for a 28ct linen. 28ct will be a wonderful change and my eyes will thank me. The reason for the 28ct is to accompany all of the beads used in the dress.

I also have my eyes on Rose Celebration by Miabilia.

but not until I finish Hester's Needle project and I am almost there.

perhaps this is the season for a change...

Enjoy.

Problems, problems

Friends I have not posted since I have been having problems, both with my PC and at home.

DH got in a car accident, thankfully he is fine. His car is totalled. Our apt flooded, it is all cleaned up and my DD is sick once more.

I finished this month's section of my TN sampler (which I will scan for you) and now I am working on Jane Turner this weekend.

And look at this beauty from The Essamplaire

Johanna Rosina Fregangin (1689)..Does it get better than this? Yes, I own the pattern and I have linen that will work fine (40 ct). I plan to look through my stash and find silks that will work.

Have a peaceful Saturday..Enjoy!!
